The February workshop sold out in 3 days, so we are beginning to register students for the April workshop at the Delray Center For The Arts. Please go to www.delrayarts.org, or contact me directly. Space is limited.
This is a fun, energetic workshop in the heart of gorgeous Delray Beach in Palm Beach County, Florida. We will focus on tapping into your emotional responses to the visual stimuli around you to create paintings from the heart. Weather permitting, we will be outside both days, with some studio time for critiques and lectures. There will be a demo each day to guide you through the process of composition, editing, color selection and brush strokes. Once the demos are complete, I will meet with each one of you individually to address your needs as a painter.
Below are some comments from the Feb. 2015 workshop:
Thank you so much for a wonderful two days of painting. I am looking forward to the next one! ..Barbara Pearson
I liked how you did the demo and we painted in the morning, then lunch, then the critique. It was a good idea to ask who had taken part previously in a critique and to describe it. There were some people in the class that were nervous about a critique and it helped them to relax and be receptive to some good feedback on their paintings. I loved your description on the inspiration and feeling behind your sunflower painting and also some of your other beautiful paintings.
All in all I found this workshop to be extremely helpful to me in my own artwork. You conveyed an amazing amount of information in just 2 days, and I think you are a very good and inspiring artist/teacher....Bobbie Kennedy
It more than met my expectations in that you gave us a way to start (the drawing of our subject) with lights and darks and lots of good advice not to mention your demonstrations!!...Pat Deck
Hi Pati, Thank you so much for giving this workshop. I once again was reminded of all that I have learned from your good teaching.
On a scale of 1 to 5 I have to say that every aspect of the 2 days was very well planned. 5 all round. Lunch was great. The ambiance of your studio & garden was very conducive to sharing, having the critique & most comfortable for me. I have few physical limitations & am getting older as we all are but I was fine.
Lake Ida is a very special place. It was a treat to paint there.......Elly Wittlin
